Our Story
Lincoln Haven began over a decade ago when a unique opportunity arose—a picturesque 18-hectare property, once owned by the Presbyterian Church, became available for sale. Sharon, a trained nursing sister with a deep passion for elder care, saw its potential. Along with her husband, Jock, she embarked on a journey to create a retirement haven that feels like home—not a sterile institution, but a place where residents can enjoy life with the support they need.
Through careful renovation and thoughtful planning, Lincoln Haven has grown into a beautifully maintained community that caters to independent retirees, those who need assisted living, and those requiring frail care.
More Than a Home – A Family
With a dedicated team of 10 carers, 5 cleaners, 2 gardeners, 4 kitchen staff, 2 managers, and a maintenance team, Lincoln Haven runs like a well-loved family home. Our staff live on-site, ensuring a safe, supportive, and friendly environment for all residents.
Sharon Dakers, a qualified nursing sister with a heartfelt passion for caring for the elderly, leads a dedicated and compassionate team at Lincoln Haven. She’s supported by two local trained nurses and a close-knit, family-oriented team that brings warmth and enthusiasm to daily life. While Sharon oversees the home, she’s joined by a caring leadership team that includes her sister-in-law, Tracy Dakers, who plays a key role in day-to-day management. Sharon’s mother lovingly runs the kitchen, and her family lives on site—ensuring that Lincoln Haven feels truly like home.
Our maintenance manager, Derek, is a true community man—always ready to lend a hand and keep everything running smoothly.
At Lincoln Haven, we’re guided by strong Christian and family values. Grace, love, and a genuine sense of belonging are at the heart of everything we do.
